When the most important thing is to make a change: depth coaching looks at what is needed to be seen, in order for action to be taken.
Coaching is an energising, exciting process. My style is towards depth coaching. This means we may at times touch on some emotionally sensitive topics, but only where we need to in order to support you with moving forwards. In coaching, the goal is to understand where you want to get to, clarify what’s holding you back, and start setting up experiments and actions that will get you taking steps forwards. The first steps will often be about practically making time and space: otherwise the coaching falls flat because you’ll be trying to add things to an already busy mind and life. You need to be willing to take care of yourself holistically if you want this to work sustainably.
Coaching can push buttons, and the process of long-lasting change is non-linear and at times frustrating. The aim is towards transformation and action, and the breakthroughs will come, just not always how you thought they would.
If you enjoy coaching all the time then it’s not working: you have to get outside of your comfort zone and take actions that you’re almost-not-ready to take. But you don’t do it alone. By definition it’s hard and uncomfortable to push outside of your comfort zone and into growth, that’s why a coach is there to hold you accountable, notice your change, and remember your deeper ‘why’ when you start to doubt why you started this in the first place. If you could have done this on your own sooner – you would have. Really excited to work with people who are ready to take greater steps than they thought they would!
